Mr Elvey is a consultant Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist surgeon. He graduated from the Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2007 with MBBS and a BSc Hons in Medical Law. After completing speciality training on the University College London Hospital Programme he was awarded subspecialty Hand and Wrist fellowships at the World renowned Wrightington Upper limb Unit and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. In 2018 he undertook a travelling Observership to the Institute De La Main, Paris, France and in 2019 he was awarded the Gold Medal for the highest performance in the British Postgraduate Hand Diploma examination.

Mr Elvey holds an NHS consultant post at University College London NHS Foundation Trust where he supervises trainees in his role of treating all aspects of Hand and Wrist surgery in both adults and children. He publishes regularly in peer-reviewed journals, has received numerous research prizes, and presents regularly at national and international scientific meetings. He has contributed to major textbooks, is a reviewer for the top hand and wrist publications and maintains an active interest in medical law. He has a special interest in joint replacement, keyhole surgery and sports injuries, treating amateur weekend warriors through to elite athletes from the Premier League, Rugby League, LTA, and professional Boxers amongst others . A handsome, intelligent, experienced doctor who sorted out my mum's acute problems with her tendons, elbow and carpul tunnel issues. Basically my mum could not use her left hand or fingers and apart from being frustrated was in pain. Dr Elvey from what I understood slit her wrists, removed all inflamation and resolved all matters and my mum at 91 is now magically cured with hardly a scar. I was recommended to Michael Elvey  by a friend for my carpal tunnel syndrome issue and found the recommendation perfect.  I found Mr Elvey both knowledgable, extremely thorough with his examination and clear with his description of how I could be relieved by surgery at my initial consultation.  On the day of surgery he again showed his professionalism and reassurance .  I only had a local anaesthetic- we managed to chat happily during the procedure . Mr. Michael Elvey is not only an amazing surgeon but also incredibly reassuring and understanding. My wrist was badly broken, and I required surgery to insert a plate and screws to put it back together properly. Thanks to Mr. Elvey’s expertise, three months later I have been discharged, and all I can see is a thin, faint line. With the help of Rachel, the physiotherapist Mr. Elvey recommended, I have regained full range of movement and am back to doing Pilates.
